In addition to your annual free credit report, you are also entitled to get a credit report for free if you are unemployed, are receiving welfare or if you believe you have been a victim of fraud. You can also get a report for free if you’ve been denied housing, credit or employment due to your credit history within the last 60 days. If you are seeking a free credit report due to being denied employment, housing, or credit, the company that denies you is required to send you a letter. This letter will say which credit report was used. You can include a copy of this letter when you request your credit report.
